my 335 here already.i am not being disloyal.just felt that bmw messed up m3.at $333k its hardly a best buy compared to porsche cayman s.

the porsche cayman s is my dream car now.

Not saying that your 335 is cheap, but if you bought it and not your dreamcar because the 335 was cheaper, then the saying applies to you.

1) Higher displacement does not necessarily equate to higher engine weight (as pointed out by centurion and Shaun). The LS7 engine used in the 2006 Corvette [7 litre V8] for example weighs about the same as the 5 litre V10 used in the current M5. Outputs of the 2 engines are also very similar. All the more interesting because the LS7 uses prehistoric push rods rather than modern overhead cams. Two different routes to the same destination.

On top of that, the LS7 has a wider torque spread (% of total engine speed range, extreme drivability..pull from almost any gear), costs a lot less, and runs better BSFC. On the aftermarket side you could add another 400cc to it and still end up costing considerably less than M5 V10. In fact you could build an 8 litre aftermarket V8 for less than the V10.

I'm glad you guys are breaking this stuff down into the numbers, because that strips away all the marketing and hype, and what's left can hardly be argued with.

Now bringing it back to local context here....

I'd expect the C63 to sell cheaper than the new M3.
The only crap thing is the bloody road tax..Else, definitely have to love the big displacement engine for the wide torque band.

Even if the C63's handling isnt as sharp as the M3....it isnt a problem, it can be fixed to make it better.

And this is the classic thing....the M3 still doesnt come with a big brake kit but the 135 does! Now what the fk-ing rubbish is that?

if the C63 sells cheaper than the M3 in SG (I do not expect. I expect it to sell about 20K more) I tell you, WTF, I'll consider it. And I'll break my vow and tune it to 570HP max safe. And I'll break another vow and enjoy straightline blasts again with the best of them, including all my friends buying the GTR and them tuned 335s.

Lets see coz the C55 was way below the E46M3 so i was just making my assumption there.
