Motor Trend's Forecast for BMW 2007-2010

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is obvious that some of this info posted is already dated and erroneous.

2007 BMW 3 Series: Coupe and convertible join the 3 Series sedans. Bridging the performance gap between six-cylinder 3 Series models and the mighty V-8-powered M3 will be a turbocharged variant based on direct-injection gasoline engines.

2007 BMW 1 Series: Positioned between the Mini and the 3 Series, the 1 Series is expected to come to the U.S market years after its European launch. The lineup is expected to be a coupe and sedan, though a five-door is available should consumers be receptive. Engines will be I-4 and I-6, likely shared with the 3 Series.

2007 BMW 7 Series: Redesign.

2008 BMW M3: The M3 coupe will feature a 4.0-liter/400-horsepower V-8 engine derived from the M5's mighty V-10.

2008 BMW V5: A new crossover vehicle that will share its AWD platform with the next-generation X5, the V5 merges sedan luxury with all-weather performance and sport-coupe dynamics. Engines will be next-gen I-6s and V-8s, the latter with second-gen direct-injection systems.

2008 BMW X3: Freshening.

2008 BMW Z4: M edition brings a 3.2L/343-hp engine, firmer suspension, dramatic body work, and better dressed interior.

2009 BMW M2: Small coupe gains a high-performance M model, with upwards of 300 hp.

2009 BMW X6: All-new sport/activity vehicle.

2009 BMW Z2: A roadster spun off the small and affordable 1 Series.

2009 BMW Z3: Redesign.

Re: BMW model release forecast 2007-2010

No model to counter Merc's CLS?
The CLS seems to be kinda popular based on the growing no. of CLS we see on the road these days, and read from one of those UK car magazines that BMW is intending to build a 4 door grand tourer cum coupe. That would be interesting.

Re: BMW model release forecast 2007-2010

.......... Actually I didn't take a liking to the CLS but after seeing it a couple of times on the road, seems fine, and it's at least one of the more stylish saloons from Merc....

Re: BMW model release forecast 2007-2010

Speaking of new model releases. My bro-in-law happen to ask PML on the 335i launch in Singapore. PML SE said the 335i Coupe E92 will only be available in 2007 in Singapore. Before end of the year 2006, only the E92 325i Coupe will be brought in.

AND...AND...ANDAND...AND....PML dont intend to bring in a 335i SEDAN E90 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at ALL. So says PML as of 12 Sept 2006 2.30pm !
