BMW Performance Brakes

Hi guys,

Need some advice. I just installed the BMW Performance brake set (front & rear) for my 1 series coupe and it is awesome!!

The only gripe is that the front brake set is in BMW Performance yellow but the rear is in "raw" metal gray. It just seems to make the brake system "half baked"....anyway, is there a reliable place to paint the rear brake set so that it looks consistent with the front? Sorry if this request sounds frivolous.

Also, is it common that they do not return the stock brake set?

Cheers

(ps: and I don't intend to strip the color of the front brakes to match the rear )

You shd have it painted before installation. With the caliper installed, any paint job on it right now would be diff to paint + diff to colour match + poor workmanship.

You SHOULD retrieve own stock brake unless you do not have the intention to dekit prior sellin ur ride in time to come.

Re: BMW Performance Brakes

Thanks, guys. Purchased and installed it at PML. Hmmmm.... Let me follow up with them on th stock brakes

Any suggestions on shops that can help with such paint jobs? Cheers

Re: BMW Performance Brakes

hi, i just brought a E82 with BMW performance brakes. Can anyone advise me on any recommended workshop to do a change of rotor? And whether is it better to change to stock rotor or aftermarket rotors?

Re: BMW Performance Brakes

I heard the rotors can be skimmed and use for another period of time. That was from my previous wrx workshop. Beleivebmw workshops provide this as well.

Re: BMW Performance Brakes

Doesn't it take ages for a rotor to wear out? This is my first time hearing this. :D

Depending on your driving style, stock rotors can wear out as fast 40k km. In comparison my previous ride went through 300k km and 5 timing belt changes, countless pad changes and I didn't even change the discs once. Different cars different performance/issues.

Re: BMW Performance Brakes

I would assume the rotors would wear out faster if you break while cornering too much? Thanks bro! :)
