I thought mine will sound like that but....it did not.

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

That's right... That should be how it should sound like... But I guess this car in the video must have down & mid pipe changed cos it sounds very deep loud & free flow.....

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

Lalilulelo,
Called up pml and was quoted 3500 for the performance exhaust.
Who did you ask to get the 1K quotation?

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

why u all waste unnecessary money on exos mod. Just keep everything stock like me. Want to her louder exos note, wind down yr window. Want to hear your Korean Pop on your Logic 7, wind up your window, close your sunroof.

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

The performance exhaust removes the servo flapper and some of the restrictions from the stock exhaust. It should get you a bit more power along with the better sound, I'm leaning towards this route mainly because there is no drone at highway speeds with the performance exhaust.

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

Bros & Sis,

I'm looking at a 335i tonight and am hoping that some of you gurus can assist cause this will be my very first continental ride which is tc.

Currently driving an evo9 and would like to change to a 335i.

What should I look at for a pre-owned 335i..

Have been reading this thread about the exhaust system etc.. is it that expensive and how about the turbo? is it as easy as changing turbos in an evo?

With regards to comfort, i have no doubts abt it..

Factors that I need assistance is more to the engine, exhaust systems and reflashing.. what kind of magic numbers can be produced and how abt $? more bhp.. more $...

I believe handling for a 335i is great.. am just wondering how many kinds of 335i are there? I'm trying to get the coupe..

Sorry to the bro for hijacking your topic..

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

I hv the performance exhaust on my pre LCI e90. As Arrow had said, the E90 version comes with extra length of piping that went all the way from muffler to below driver's seat. A forummer who has e92 pre LCI performance exhaust told me his is even louder than mine even though his is only muffler box. So perhaps something gone wrong with Champwhite's installation.

Mine is loud enough for TP to stop me but no droning.

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

Can someone explain to me what does droning means? I thought I only hear exhaust and engine sound when car is being revved on roads. Thanks.

Means irritating reverberation inside the cabin like when there is way too much bass in a sound system. Commonly felt in some aftermkt exhaust at around 2000 rpm which can be tiring as that is out typical cruising rpm.

I was referring to pre-LCI lah.

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

Meaning to say, the exhaust now r only muffler & not with mid pipe for face lift E90? Was quoted $1588.36 from PML when i check with them via tele.

cheers!

Re: BMW Performance Exhaust 335i Coupe

I took the plunge and got the exhaust plus some other accessories, PML had some hiccup with the paperworks and the car ended up going back and forth between the service center and LTA for several times.

Anyway, the exhaust is indeed louder, you would not be able to tell the difference on normal start up, but during cold start, it is loud, on normal speed, I would say it is about 30% louder than the factory one.

The exhaust note takes on a deeper and more throaty character as well, it can get phenomenally loud if you rev it all the way to the redline in the tunnel.

At the end of the day, it would not make the 335 sound like a high revving Ferrari V8 but I think it is distinct enough.

I got mine for 3k plus without factor in discount and the 30% voucher.
