Seems like a cool feature, wonder why they would remove it.
mine have it, initially I thought to prevent debris lol. Now wiser after saw the vid.

This cool feature doesn't work in Singapore due to our high humidity and tropical temperature. It will always stay open. This feature only works well in 4 seasons country especially in winter.

Probably works only in the morning when the engine is still cool for a short period. The rest of the day probably stay opened.
