5,000km ===> if you drive like a F1 driver but also if your bank account allow you to do so
8,000km ===> if you road rage once in a while
10,000km ===> if you drive like my mum

I'm new here...just got my bm as 2nd hand, 1yr10mths old. First service maintenance done in 12km, and now running at 20km. Someone told me that bm service intervals are 15km +/-, is that true?

Like many others have posted, you can never overkill with changing lubes.

Remember, engine oil is the blood of your engine

Dear Bro,

as we all know BMW cars works on time / condition based system. So the OBC will actually tell you when you need to do your service actually. But if you feel abit better and safer, you can just change the engine oil based on mid interval. (I.e. i did my first oil change outside at 8k then at about 15k, i went back to PML for oil change too..) So like what alot of bro here say, there is no harm doing more oil change . Strictly speaking, base on BMW schedule, you do not have to do the oil change till the OBC alarm sounds. Hope my 2 cents help...

Exactly. Leave it to the OBC to do its job. Its so detailed with specific mileage countdown and projected date service is due. Besides, we don't usually keep our cars that long to see the ill effects of protracted servicing.....

Exactly. Leave it to the OBC to do its job. Its so detailed with specific mileage countdown and projected date service is due. Besides, we don't usually keep our cars that long to see the ill effects of protracted servicing.....

It depends on how deep is ur luv loh. I lov my car so much that i still change oil every 8k even though my car is to be scrapped by next yr.

My OBC triggers an engine oil change at somewhere between 8,000 to 10,000 km intervals.
