BMW stripes on grill

sorry to sound stupid, wondering if any brothers or sisters here can tell me what are the stripes on the grills of some bmw i see, are there different kinda of stripes?

i have a 2012 M6, wondering if it will be retarded to put the stripes on

Those are the M-Racing colors I believe. And it's all up to personal preference - either you like it or you don't.

Good question actually... why the R colours ah?

That's not the Germany flag colour ma...
