Hi guys, like to know if anyone of you experience foul smell coming from the air con air ? Driving a X1 181i

apparently PML service team is saying this is a problem that cannot be solve. Any advices?

I driving x1 e84 2011( auto transmission got problem my gm transmission cost $3600) anyone can advise me what to do?? save some cost 2year10month to go. My mileage 240k
 
Hi,

I had this problem too after 2 months, went in to PML, took them 2 days to clean condenser, reprogrammed blower etc. but smell came back after 2 days... ;-(

Tedious... Gotta go down again...

Actually my F36 also got smell when car started...after maybe few minutes its gone :huhhuh:

Is your X1 smell stay long time :(

That means it is the same

I used the plasma custer to get rid of the smell

But these 2 days the smell suddenly disappeared :eek:

You mean the Sharp Automotive Plasmacluster? It helps in your case?

Good that your problem has disappeared for now but from what I understand, it might be a recurring issue, caused by moisture, condensation that forms on the cold aircon condenser after car is stops running, if this moisture is not discharged properly, get trapped, mold / bacteria grows and that's what causes the foul smell, next time you start your car's aircon, especially cold start the next morning.

Many factors such as how you run the car, the aircon, where you park (outdoors under hot sun or indoor parking), our weather here (sunny, raining, high humidity), all play a part.

Could be design issue or/and aircon blower programming issue.

But of course the PML CS we see will give us their SOP answers & tell us we are the ONLY one with this problem...

Yes sir...i am using the Sharp device...really very good...even durian smell also can get rid:goodup:

So PML will tell us this is a normal smell with no solution at all again :Mad:

oh yea, totally forgot about the device. Kept in the corner of my boot and forgotten about it. Had to live with durian smell the past few days..
