BMW X5 2010 E70- Engine Fault-Reduced power

Hi, while driving above 60kmph on vertical road while pressing more accelerator I am getting engine fault reduced power error, car is bit shaking, no power in engine, can’t speed up. What is the solution? My friend changed turbocharger and his issue resolved. Is it right fix

Hi all,
One local mechanic and BMW service centre checked my car, still they are not able to solve the Engine faulty. Spark plugs, fuel pump, changed. Now I have High pressure fuel, plausibility pressure too low, VANOS intake/exhaust, control fault-camshaft stuck and Air mass system, plausibility calculated air masses in the air system not plausible faults in computer.
when I start the car, power is less and immediately power reduced alarms pops up.

can someone suggest to solve this issue?

Hi Friends, I am suffering from this issue from 4 years now, no solution yet from any mechanic. After nozzle change and pressure pump change problem solved 1-2 months and then again came back

Need expert advise please

Have u checked/changed the Mechatronics? (by right should change every 5-7 years to maintain smoothness of gear change)

Its never possible to give a proper diagnosis based on text/verbal exchanges as there are many possible reasons for the same problem.

Try another workshop to have a second opinion or look for issues from another angle.

I have always relied on site sponsor Revol to resolve my issues and so far they have managed to identify and resolved most of them by 1st visit (except for leaking braking fluid, which was detected and resolved by a *surprisingly.. mom-pop workshop in JB)

Good luck

Thanks for your reply. I have changed the gear box as well. 5-6 different mechanics failed to resolve in 4 years including bmw showroom who has given whole list of 7-8 parts change which I am sure not the cause. Unfortunately problem resolves when we change ignition coil, spark plugs and one time pressure pump, but repeats again after 1-2 months. Looks like it’s small time bounded error, not able to find out
Any suggestion always welcome

This is most unfortunate for you at the moment.

The gearbox is controlled by the mechatronics unit so not very sure the mechanic changed the right component for you. My E60 mecha unit cost about under S$4k to replace the other time. I only changed this and not the gearbox and it worked fine then.
Then again, your problem may not be due to this component.
Transmission of power consists of many components and the correct one has yet to be identified.

Our only advice is that you try another BMW specialist ws
Personally have good experience with BVO and Revol (both are site sponsors) but not-so-good with PML but its up to your own level of comfort and preference. Diagnosis should be free and no obligation

good luck

Thanks but my car is in kenya, so.
Main problem is this issue comes intermittently, now from last 4-5 days no fault, but it will come for sure if I drive above 60kmph
