BMW Z4 SMG - is it a good ride ?

Dear fellas,

I am interested in buying a Z4 3.0L SMG. Have driven it a couple of times and gotten the hang of the gear shift. However, many of my friends feel that the SMG takes the 'drive' out of the car and that I will prob be bored of the SMG within a month. Any Z4 SMG owners with any comments on the 'drivability' of the SMG ?

How does the Z4 3.0L SMG compare with the manual ? My other option is to buy the Z4 3.0L Manual. It seems like many users are of the opinion that the service at PML sucks. In that case, it seems that going parallel is the ideal choice. Any good parallels to recommend for the Z4 ?

Cheers

obviously, parallels are the 350Z, Boxster and the SLK, and if you're considering coupes, the Cayman also.

The Z4 is pretty much the middle of the road with the price and availability going for it for 2nd hand. If you're buying a high cc one new, you REALLY need to consider the other choices.
