Got my wheel arches insulated at Soundwerkz .... helped quite a bit.

the doors have insulation but very thin...and the wheel arches have no insulation at all.

Perhaps the doors need not have further insulation because unless u soundproof the wheel arches 1st, the road noise will still get in....

So... has anyone pasted soundproofing mats such Dynamat or 3M Thinsulate to their wheel arches?

Mine! Cos I change out old parts and fluids every month, I'm driving a brand new car everyday!!!

One thing though - should spray the silver side of the insulation black before pasting ........

I went for the bonnet insulation - thought it would protect the paint.

Does it get hot in the bay .... I have vents on my hood so no problems.

Maybe the thermostat bypass mod helped with the heat dissipation .........

Any reason why? black will trap heat and silver will release heat.

Aesthetics ...... It just looks weird when you look through the wire mesh in the front at the wheel well ....

if you decided to go for sound insulation, go for Dynamat or STP brands. avoid china ones at all cost

Both brands good but also make sure get the correct type within the product ranges offers they have .....

if you decided to go for sound insulation, go for Dynamat or STP brands. avoid china ones at all cost
