Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Yeah, I was just telling Jack that at times, even the US failed in their QC process, so no chance I am leaving to products QC-ed in China...... In this aspect, I think only Japs reign supreme......

Frankly nowadays almost everything around us is made in china, so it is quite 'normal' to find out that the rims are from there.

I'm not against made in prc products, just that I'm concerned on the quality control etc etc and would like to hear some feedback from the forummers here. Anyway think I'll give the GTS a miss because spacers are required.

Thanks TripleM for the good advice!

After months of deliberation, I decided on 20" Breyton Race GTS (graphite) and have not regretted it since. Weightwise, having run on other 20" rims prior to this, it was lighter than I expected and I now do more zoom-zoom.

As this is an official Breyton product with QC tests, this is good enough for me. The last time I checked the various forums, I did not note any QC issues.

Ray's is the best (read cheapest) place in Singapore as I compared around all the rims shops I could find the last six months. I am aware Raymond managed to get the best price in Singapore as he placed a significant order for this particular model in various sizes and colours. Make sure you get the Breyton valve caps.

Consider 20" and here is my post with pics:

Hi Jiunn Siong, nice rims and setup you have there!

Since yours is E92, so should be without spacers right? BTW "Race GTS" and "GTS" is the same thing right?

My main concern now is:
1) for Breyton: need to use spacer. Not so much concerned that they're from PRC
2) for Vertini: Don't know much about this brand, and so not sure of quality. But I like the deep dish look, and price cheaper by 1K+.

Alternatively get the OEM M5 rims, but it looks like every E60 has them! And I think they're heavy and overprice.

Yes bru, i also love deep dish from China, the deeper the better. Bru since the rims is from China, then ask for China pricing ba. As for whether to fix on Yokohama tyres or not, i m sure the bru here can advise you!!! Anyone???

Jack brudder, its been awhile i didnt eat luncheon meat liao. Nowadays, i love to eat oyster!!!! Better than viagra, ah lek say one!!!!

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Yep my E92 no need for spacers.

I believe so long as you do not go over a certain size in spacers (20mm? 30mm? ask around), you should be fine.

What colour's your car? I've seen one E60 graphite running Race GTS 20" gunmetal lowered...hawt!

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Jiunn Siong, my car is sapphire black. Hmmm... still not very comfortable with the spacer thing, it's completely new to me. Think will need to look around and find more info before I part with my $$$.

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Sorry to OT abit.
Was told that the breyton gt rims for the e60 would come with spacers of 15mm, max 20mm. Would it be advisable to still use them?
What would be the worst case senario if i would to use the spacers. Pardon me for my noobness. :) Thanks.

If black, then maybe silver rims may be best. Check out other posts on spacers. You should be fine so long as you get them from reputable manufacturers (Eibach, H&R) and do not get them too large. Good luck in your decision.

Ya, that's what I thought about the silver rims on black car combination as well.

Thanks for all the advice Jiunn Siong!

was initially concerned about Breyton made-in-china but since no need spacer (i dun like) so decided to go for it - no regret since.
Good price after trading in my stock 16".
Only regret is that left front rim kenna scratch coz stopped too near curb & the spokes are abit "protruding" for Race GTS.
Went back to Ray-S for touch-up - quick and good job! Looks good now. :)

Just in case I hit mine in the future!

I kenna 3 spokes & the edges on the left front.
Touch up back to Ray-S where I bought the rim.
10 minutes job and the touch up was excellent - cant tell difference unless u'r looking at it very closely.
They even clean my other 3 rims.
nominal fee lah - for the great service, i'll be paiseh if i don't pay anything.

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

That's gr8 service from Raymond. Your gashes mustn't have been too deep.

What's the colour of the actual rim material below? Didn't you need to get it painted? I ask this because I thought the gunmetal coloured rims were just painted on...I may be wrong...thanks.

Thot it was something black. But when grinding it revealed the base to be silver!
So the black was probably the kerb.
Some small part difficult to grind so touch up with paint over - not obvious even on close look.
Am happy that it's looking good!
