715, paint is paint, what you are maintaining is the clear coat. Anyway, BMW dont have a metallic white.
Imo, metallic is better than non metallic. Looks wise.
Ask you wife, does she like her metallic nail polish, or her pastel non metallic better? Guarentee metallic looks better.

I'hd always thought my black + black choice is the slickest choice for a 5er n while i still stand by this opinion, i must admit that the white + brown combo looks FRESH on my neighbour's ride!!!

hey 715, good choice on the black-black color scheme.

like some of the forumers mentioned, only if u wana mod it, then white is the way..else black would look sleek on a stock e60

but then, after hanging out at this forum for a lil bit longer, u might wana have a better lookin rims to match ur ride?.or install kits to look even sleeker?..or u might just end up spray painting ur car WHITE!

haha.... the stock 523 comes with 17" #244 rims, which are quite nice IMHO. Anyway, wife will be taking over the car, hence don't think any mods will be done to it. Maybe it's time for me to mod the E46 that I'll be taking over from her! Hahaha....

neither black or white is easy to maintain.

lastly I would actually suggest you go for the white + brown if you like to keep it stock. that combo feel very conti to me.

I had black + lemon. almost a year soon. I still never regret of my choice. of course maintaining is another issues. you can either maintain it monthly or get groomers to take over the job.
