Can someone help me with connecting my phone to my car via Bluetooth

Hi all,

Does anyone have a problem connecting their phone to their head unit using bluetooth?
I click on "start pairing" and they ask me to enter the passcode, so i type "0000" for eg. But my phone never prompts me to enter the passcode so immediately I press enter on my car and it says "FAIL".

So how to connect my phone? anyone know?
my phone is Iphone4 btw.

use this. squeeze abit to ur ifone 4 n a bit to ur head unit. press them together n hold for 30 seconds. dont hv to type 0000. after 30 seconds u will be connected

check that bluetooth is turned on on your iphone first and see if your iphone able to find a bluetooth device with the id "BMWxxxxx" where xxxxx is the last 5 numbers of your VIN?
if cannot be found, then there's some problems.

if can find, then click on the "BMWxxxxx" to start pairing.

I followed the exact same steps in the video. But when I got the part where it shows BMW 30600 in my iphone, I tap on that and after that nothing happens. My phone does not prompt me to key in a passcode.
I tried with Iphone 3 and Iphone 4, both doesn't work.

i have no problem on my non-idrive E90 with iphone 4 and iphone 5.

is there any previous phones paired with the car? the car can pair up to a max of 4 phones only so you need to delete old phones from the list if there any before pairing can be done.

try this - delete whatever profile you had before on car and phone.

reboot your phone .... do the same procedure again.

if all else fails, choose the 'BMW XXXXX' under the bluetooth menu selection for list of phones, then choose 'forget device' and try again

sometime it is compatibility issue, so no way to pair up even though
can be detected
Try also to keep the wifi on .... desperate measure but no harm trying
