can we use the US Biz CD player HD in our E46 cars?

Hi All

just want to check if anyone has bought a US Business CD/Radio HeadUnit and installed on their E46? I am thinking of purchasing one from US but not sure if it will work with my E46 BMW 318 Sedan-4-dr car, bought in Feb99.

Can anyone pls enlighten me on this simple upgrade? Many thanks!!!

Depends on when the Business headunit was built. There are two different connectors, think the cut-over point was around the facelift. (40-pin, vs 17 pin).

the one that I am buying is from an M3 built in year 2002.
I will ask the buyer if he knows whether his is a 40-pin or 17-pin. Thanks!

I did it mine was a 2003 cd model fitted on a 2003 model car. I know of another member here who did the same thing on his 04 or 05 Car. He bought an 01 cd player and had some problems retrofitting it but Hong Guan managed to get it done. I would advise you to get in contact with them as they did mine too.
Also I passed them the instructions on how to reset the cd player so that it can receive both even and odd numbered stations. Good Luck!
