If you like to keep your car stock, Aviva online is the cheapest. I paid $958 to renew for 3 year old E90 335i $1k excess.

You told them your car is stock or they check ? Can go your workshop or have to go their workshop in an accident ?

NCD is normally transferable. But in this particular case, he kenna accident but have NCD Protector - which is NOT transferable! With NCD protector, you continue to enjoy 50% NCD only of you continue with existing insurer. Once switch insurer, drop to 20% - as if no NCD protector. But this 20% is transferable between insurers...

I think NCB protector is a CON....u pay to be "protected" then when renewal comes, "up" goes the premium, then u still think you have "50%" NCB....but the differential is as good or may be even worse when its only 20% NCB...so outcome is LPPL..!!!!....also then again....following year how? would still continue with 50% NCB that is "transferable" or you are "technically" 20%+1year good driving?....bet you the answer is no 50% ...if you you switch insurer...so again LPPL...

CASE should look into "practice".....

It is an online application, hence you just need to declare it but of course you will need to remind yourself to keep your car in totally stock condition throughout the insured period in order not to risk voiding the coverage, for example no changing of rims or exhausts or body parts. Even for tyres, I have every intention to change back to the exact same RFT when they are due for replacement so there is no issue for me. As for workshop, you can choose your own preferred workshop but the excess will be doubled.

My insurance is due too.730 li 2008 model.50 percent ncd and was quoted less than 1k by china taiping(500 excess) with ncd protector.ntuc, my current quote $1320.any bros have good deals to recommend? Checked others like liberty, aviva , about same or more than Ntuc

Re: Car insurance - Advices needed..

Different insurers work differently. There may be cheaper quotes from time to time comparing between insurers, however bros should also note on the excess that is quoted. For example, a quote of 2k with excess of 500 and a quote of 1k with excess 1k. It really depends on how you look at it.

Re: Car insurance - Advices needed..

I've been on MSIG for many years. There are always pros and cons of each insurer and policies, but I do find MSIG's ultimate protector one of the better ones - full coverage and insures the finance outstanding in case of theft/ total loss. They are also extremely helpful and mostly no question asked to get things done.

As to the coverage and NCD, I've always omitted insuring for COE and always at the market value of the car during renewal. Being a non-claim customer for many years help with paying low premiums....

Re: Car insurance - Advices needed..

Bottom line is try to get various quotes and compare, you will be surprised how attractive some insurers draft out the policies, as it is a competitive market.
