car jerks

Hi,
Need some help from the experts here.
My 320i E46 (04 make) jerked when i was cruising or trying to pick up speed.
Realise that the rpm was fluctuating during the jerking. this happened abt 5 to 6 times (even during revving hard). I stopped and turned off the engine and startedagain and iy was fine.
This has happened on the 19 dec and 06 jan.
I also noticed that my idle rpm is low at ard 700. Is this also a problem?

Help... somebody.. .

could be spark plugs miss-firing............

I had the intermittent jerk when accelerate hard for the past 6mths. Past few weeks getting worst. Yesterday send for servicing and troubleshooting at BVO. They changed the ignition coils. Now my car pick up back to power and smooth.

Yup. it is the ignition coils. j4c told me it is the gear box. i was stunned.
