(1) What was being repaired in the final bill?
(2) How was this compared to the $23K PML quoted? What are you gonna do about that?
(3) How was the fake mileage issue being addressed? Adjusted back to the DME's record?

Hi Kenntona,
My repaired as following:
1. Change solenoid valve
2. ATF change
3. Oil pan
4. Thermostat change
5. Engine oil
6. Oil filter
7. Spark plug
8. Dunno what gasket on top of engine, only small piece thing
9. Software update for gearbox
All above is my own materials and labour cost 8xx.
PML normally don't do overhaul work, they only can one to one exchange.
Regarding the mileage I think nothing much can do la, just let it be.
Hopefully nothing big issue for another 2 years.

Should this list be compared against what PML suggested for $23K?

Name to warn others, not necessarily name to shame.

Hi Redbeanun,
According to the mechanic told me, he said once change solenoid valve have to update the software because the car would haywire if not done so.
I don't know whether he smoke me? Maybe you can enlighten me if I'm wrong.

Hi Kenntona,
PML only told me replace new gearbox and solenoid valve will be 23k.

Re: car stalled at woodland checkpoint

guys..my 2 cents!
u guys are not comparing apple vs apples.
PML suggestion of changing the whole GB ( also solve the whole issue the TR had.) Some may opt to go that route....which is isn't wrong.( just that most of us wun....doesn't mean PML wanna carrot us.)
I think that's Kenn's question 2!
Kenn's reasoning go more deeper than u guys think!

I was quoted a similar amount for a new gearbox for my E60 a few years ago too. In the end, one of the sponsors here helped me refurbish my gearbox and install a new solenoid valve for about 9K.

Re: car stalled at woodland checkpoint

No harm updating. If there is a different hardware ID e.g they installed an updated mechatronic body (hope they did) then an updated flash is a good thing.

Question is which version e.g sat or at etc ......

Each version of the flash is also to address certain issues. Some features may be disabled or enabled as a result.

They should also reset the high level adaptations along the way and allow the transmission to "re-learn"

All that stuff I did for my own ride ......
