Change Engine Oil

Re: Change Engine Oil

towkay,
new car under warranty right? just go back to PML la, your new engine oil can last 15000km or more....no need to change lah, just change it when it's reaching 7000km lah, anyway, they are using Shell Helix now, so it won;t last long, bring your own Mobil, castrol, ows there to PML if you want them to use your oil and they will just charge your labor and filter (price gone up over the years liao hor).
sooooooo....stick to PML lah....if it's still under warranty....

I'm wondering, why do not want to go back PML for your virgin service? Any particular reason?

Your car cost you more than S$200k, so I don't see any reason to save that $$$. Especially is a new car....if your car out of warranty, ok la...

Common question being asked, will service my car outside AD void warranty? The answer is....

Hi,

Thought abt just changing oil, not going to do any other scheduled servicing stuffs. Althought what you said makes sense but still seems too much to pay for a simple thing.

Go to the nearest Esso station and buy 2 pails of 4L Mobil 0W-40 oil. Price of oil depends if there is any promotion at that time or sometimes got free gift. Schedule with pml for express service (1 hr complete). Tell them u will be bringing in your own oil.

Ask them to charge only labor and oil filter which cost a total $60+ as labor charge for express service is higher.

If you get them to wash down your car after that, takes another additional 15-30min.

If budget got constraint, can try lower grades of oil or Shell Helix.

Worth it to change oil and oil filter upon run in especially if you intend to drive your car for years to come.

Re: Change Engine Oil

Does the other workshops accept you to bring your own oil? (I'm surprised that PML even allows that). I still have 3 bottles of 4L Helix in my storeroom. Anyway which grade is suitable for the E60? -30, -40 or the -50?

Yes pml allows u to bring your own engine oil. Other workshops or agents I dunno.

Grade 40 good enough for normal driving. 50 is for racing.
