Change of Tires/Rims -Warranty Void??

Hi;
Im currently having a2005 E60 still on warranty. Ride comes in with original 16" rims.
have considered changing to 18" for quite sometime now.
Couldnt get any info here so far.....does changing your rims/tires void the warranty??

Technically yes
If u dont run into problems relating to wheel bearings, brakes or anything that relates closely to the wheels then u are fine.

not sure about rim change but i asked my CSA specifically about tire change and he said as long as the replacement tire size is the same as stock, no problems.

wah..so if car comes in stock 16" rim + tyres n I change to 18/19", I cant qualify for warranty ? Strange, bcos PML offer in house rims size upgrade packages....how then?

pml rules say u stick sticker ie 'bmw-sg forum' on ur windshield warranty is voided! no modifications!

aiyah... dont care la.. just mod all the way u want... if one day something happen and they dont let u claim.. just screw them.. start threatening them and shout at them... it works.. :twisted:

That one also void coz the bigger rims/tires will cause the ride become harsher hence affecting the stability of power-window motors etc etc

and when the window breaks down...u wun be able to close it. dust will enter ur car and block up ur aircon...the compressor has to work harder causing the engine to overheat and the potential to blow a gasket is huge. therefore u cannot change tyres/rims

For those interested, I weighed the OEM 16" rim + RFT......one set of rim/RFT.....and their total weight is...

TWENTY-TWO AND A HALF KILOGRAMS !!!

based on the weighing scale at the tyre shop I changed by RIMS ....kekeke. And it turned out that my new 19" BBS RIMS + tyres also weights 22.5kg......kekeke

for wheels/tires of the same weight, the larger diameter set will have its mass further away from the centre of rotation. your car's pickup will therefore be slower.
