Changing Gear Knob, Handbrake Lever - Both With Boot

Hi All

I just ordered the Performance gear knob and handbrake lever for my E92 but am having 2nd thoughts on installing them as the service staff mentioned the centre console has to come off for these two items to be installed. I am fastidious and hate for the interior trim to be removed as it may creak or not be re-installed properly after the parts are changed.

1) Is removing the centre console necessary e.g. when you change the interior trim panels or remove the gear knob and boot?
2) Is removing the centre console a simple task? I guess the more simple it is, the less likely things will go wrong e.g. not fitted back properly.
3) Anyone went through the process with PML? Care to share if it was done to your satisfaction?

Thanks!

Thanks for the comforting input. Now I am starting to doubt if the guys at PML know what they are talking about! WT.... Perhaps I should install my steering wheel at Boss too...

I think he's from parts center. There's this PML road show at GWC and I bought the parts at the parts display stand. Sheesh... This is bad, how can they not know about such simple matters? I didn't have very good experience for my Z4 3.0i coupe as well. There was a tinkling sound coming from the rear and they kept insisting it's from the front and said my steering bushes (or something) is worn out. They replaced them but then the alignment ran. The sound was still present - turns out they left a valve in the rear wheels when the previous owner went to re-spray the rims to black (done at PML). I sold the car immediately after as mentioned earlier, i am a fastidious bugger... haha...

This is bad...

Installation is done by CSA and his workers. They will be the ones who advise on matters such as installation. Parts guys order parts based on csa's requirements
