Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

this is like wwII when the Nazis stick a ''No jews allowed'' outside their restuarants etc...high class my A**

Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

the kids not allowed rule is practised in alot of fine dining places so i have no prob with them wanting that.
as for the treatment of the particular customer, i hope its not true, cos been reading conflicting claims by both sides in other forum.
be it Chris teahouse, Nando's or whatever, i think we customer do not expect them to treat us like kings, most folks just want simple mutual respect.
respect is a 2-way street, courtesy and good service is of cos a definite added plus when u are in the service sector such as F&B, retail etc.

Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

ac323 also bring clients there to drink tea. High class....

Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

No matter who's side of the story is correct. Any f&b outlet, high class or not, would not deserve my business if they have the EQ of a donkey.

Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

Look at it from another perspective - at least they made it clear the "rules". There are always alternatives - "not happy, don't spend money there." I am sure there are more than one teahouse in Singapore.

Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

i don't think i will be sipping tea there anytime soon.
prefer my good old neighbourhood kopi-gao anytime.
somemore no need to bother abt dress code if they have any, cos i love being in my bermuda shorts n slippers during my non-office hours....haha

I don't mind if they don't allow kids below a certain age...they are free to set whatever house rule they want. The main issue is the initial complaint of bad service, and the subsequent reply by the shop owner.

The reply is below:
Mr Kenneth Lee, you came to Chris' Tea House with a group of 8 people, in the first place, this cafe is not the typical Starbucks kind of cafe where groups of people go to have a gathering or just to chill out. It's meant to be a higher classed cafe. And it's obvious that the reason why larger group of people are usually not accepted is due to the limited space. When you got there, the Lady Boss arranged a table just for your group of 8, and instead of being appreciative, you had a ridiculous request of wanting to sit in twos. Are you expecting them to give up more than half the space of the cafe just for your group of 8 when there's already a table set up for your group? You ordered the berry tea, it's the CHEAPEST drink on the menu and yet you're complaining about it and about the service? If you're not a cheapskate, and you're spending a good amount while being there, it's acceptable if you have complains about the service. About the breaking of the glass. Please, do not assume when you do not know the real reason why the Lady Boss is not happy. It is NOT because of the broken glass, like you said, "Mind you it wasn't one of those "expensive" tea pots/cups". You're absolutely right about that. The real reason is about you staining the floor. If you aren't aware, those tiles are more expensive than marble tiles. In a high classed cafe, how often do you find people actually breaking glasses by accident? Who in their right mind would even place their glass near the edge of the table? True? If you aren't happy about the service, losing 8 customers would not be a big issue. Chris' Tea House would rather have a few good, understanding and well-mannered customers instead of having to deal with people like you. I am not here to pick an argument whatsoever, I am here to clear a misunderstanding. If you still do not understand where I'm coming from, it's alright. :)

Admittedly, it is a low EQ reply from the management. Kills off any credentials.

But a coin has two sides, and I believe there are more to the incident than meets the eye. A coin has 2 sides. I doubt that the customer is a Saint too.

Yah tats wat I wanted to say as well.

In this case, I am standing by the mgmt becos I m thinking on the basis of what kind of business I wan for this tea house. A family place or an exclusive one?

If exclusive, then I need to lay down rules right from the beginning whether its palatable to the general public or not. As a consumer, sometimes I just wanna go to some nice place to chill out or run lion with a hot date, without kids or noisy family gatherings which will spoil my mood...There's Macdonald's for such events... I have been to supposedly "high class" places to get my mood ruined cos some kids were playing police and thief and their parents sit by and say "so cute, we played that when we were in primary school..."

Re: Chris Tea House High Class?

The tea house mgmt seriously need some training in customer handling with that kind of response if they want to position themself as high class establishment. To weed out those cheap-skate customer price the berry tea @$50 a cup and the waitress should ve wearing those body-hugging cheongsam with the slit all the way to the waist..

muz follow this threaD:
Tea house call customer cheapskate online in order to clear misunderstanding - www.hardwarezone.com.sg

2 sides? apology my ass...

Chris Tea House:
Let me start by saying that I’m not here to argue, not here to entertain any rude questions or insults. Someone asked me a question which involves the word ‘pride’. That question, along with me getting really tired of this whole issue is the reason why I’m posting this. Before I start, I wanna say something to the one who started circulating photos of my brother and I. I do not care about the circulating photos, but is that really necessary? If you think it is, or if you feel great after doing that then kudos to you. :)

Okay, this facebook page is checked daily by my Mom, the owner of Chris’ Tea House. Since I’m the one who apparently is the one people are aiming at, please, give her a break. And when I say that, I mean stop insulting on this freaking page. If you people have any issues with this whole situation, just private message me on my fb, aite? The whole reason this started was because of me being protective of my own Mother & her café which she treats like her ‘baby’. Please enlighten me if there’s anything wrong with being protective when it comes to your own Mother.

To Mr. Kenneth Lee, I really do not care if I’m right or you’re wrong or whatever anymore. You humans aren’t tired of talking about the same thing over and over again - some of you I can bet, don’t even know the entire story or experienced it yourself but somehow are just following – but I really have had enough of you people insulting and all on my Mom’s fb page. I’m sorry, if whatever my reply to you on SoShiok.com was rude or insulting or whatever. I’m sorry if it affected you in any way. I’m sorry for the lousy service you received from Chris’ Tea House and I’m sorry you didn’t get your berry tea. Lastly, I’m sorry for calling you cheapskate and I’ll take that back if you’d let me. If you really dislike the café, just go on to other cafes and stop this online craziness. Please and thank you.

To the rest of the haters, now I’m speaking as an individual without the Café being involved. Those that started on my Formspring, especially those who gave me ridiculously rude and insulting questions, mind your fucking words. This situation started with an incident in the Chris Tea House, I don’t think that your fucking questions are really necessary. Do not judge me when you do not know me. You’d be surprise to know what kind of person I really am. Sorry for the vulgarities but like I said, I’m speaking without the Café being involved.I’ll end this with a sincere apology to all who may have been affected by anything I’ve said over the net. I’m asking for all haters to give my Mom and her Café a break. It’s a small and new café. It takes time to improve. True? To those who understood and are lovers, thanks. To haters, I ask for patience to let the café improve or just continue chillin’ at the café you used to chill. Aite? Thanks.
Chris Tea House:
Btw, it's my mom who's not involved with this whole issue online. She isn't affected by all haters. And Kelvin Tan, I'm tired of haters aiming my mom. Seriously, it's to Kenneth. Aite? I didn't say Mr. kelvin Tan. Laugh all you want or rather, laugh harder. :)

Demonaldo, see the actual point about me even apologizing. You can't hear my tone of voice. You're reading.
here is famous PR person:

this one dunno how real la:

Please let me clarify one thing once and for all. So that all the whiteknights in here can give it up and use your own hand on yourself because you're not going to get any action from her.

Firstly, kenneth used to be a good friend of mine. and he is not the kind of person the critics say he is. he actually told me the story and i am truly shocked by some things people say in here without even understanding the story. the berry tea WAS NOT the only drink they ordered. their total bill came up to be about 80 plus including a few pots of hot tea, pastries, pies and cakes etc. imo there is no way you can classify him as a cheapskate at all.

Secondly, sasha aka biatch of a daughter, WAS NOT even there that day. so her reply to him on the food review site is based solely on her own judgement and what her mum probably told her. calling him low class and a cheapskate for ordering berry tea has ZERO basis imo.

Thirdly, there are some whiteknights in here who seem to think they are ginnas wif attitude prob. kenneth is in his late 20s. and so are all his friends. they can hardly be classified as ginnas when they are all working adults.. they stayed for less than 2 hours there and did not make any nuisance of themselves while they were there.

kenneth is a very humble person who does not swear or drink or smoke. i have never heard him complain about anything before and since he took time out to write a review, it means that he was seriously pissed off with something there. Plus, they DID apologize for the broken cup numerous times and offered to pay for it.

so i think the question here is: how can anyone defend sasha (or her mum), when i don't see kenneth doing a single thing wrong?

i suggest all the wannabe whiteknights here to suck it up and fark off before you embarrass yourselves further. get your facts right before you join a discussion.
