COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

Think next thing Liu will say is cars coming from countries beginning with G must go into Higher Cat.

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

with coe at $100k.
I think it will cheaper to take taxi than own a car.
lets say you take 2 taxis trips per day.
1 month = 60 trips.
1 trip = $30
monthly transport expense = 60 x 30 = $1800.
yearly transport expense = 1800 x 12 = $21600.

Yups should be cheaper as owning a car has other components e.g. Road Tax, Fuel, Depreciation, Insurance, Parking, Fines/Summons (if any) and importantly 'depreciating' Mods

what is the FC of sonata taxi vs toyota crown vs mercedes vs chevrolet??
which marque makes the fastest accelerating taxi? 0-100km/h, 80-100km/h

if taxi fare increase, does the customer have the right to F the taxi driver and request to drive slower instead of faster to minimise chances of accident?

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

only country in the world where public transport taxis bid and pay market rate COE, then forced to retire those taxis in 7 years only.... so how do you foresee that taking taxis will be cheaper while they pay market rate expenses for ERP, petrol/diesel and parking etc....?

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

cheaper to buy a big mac from macdonalds than to make your own big mac.
economy of scale.

Sign of the times.... back to the level when I bght my M5 in JUly 2012.

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

Hard to say, Mac sold in over 120 countries, COE found only in red dot Singapore.... better don't call public taxis, public transport cos they're really not meant for the majority or general public whose heart aches when paying the fare.

In short they're Private Taxi operators and need to be profitable in their taxi business to pay market rate COEs, diesel/petrol, parking, ERP and host of other taxes and fees....

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

I am afraid this is only the beginning , it may cross the 120k mark after feb.

Re: COE premiums up across the board; breaches $90k mark in luxury car category

garmen initiative as always is to encourage more to use public transport so they plan for more buses, more MRTs and unfortunately more taxis too... where did those taxis get their COEs every 7 years?
