Connected Drive issues in 318i (2017 make)

Hi,

I experience problems with receiving SMS messages and emails through ConnectedDrive in my 318i (purchased in February). I use iPhone 7+. Until recent iOS upgrade, I could at least see emails coming from my gmail (IMAP) account and see new SMS messages coming, however I could not reply neither to emails nor to SMSs from iDrive - these options were not available for me (greyed). I spoke with BMW Genious in the PM workshop, and I could see in "Connection/Messages" SMS messages in his Samsung phone which he connected to my car, and he was also able to do some replies to them (voice call and forward).

Moreover, I understood that if I install Spotify on my phone, it prevents BMW Connected and BMW Calendar to start in ConnectedDrive. It is then only Spotify which I can see in ConnectedDrive Smartphone Apps.

It seems like a connection problem with iPhone and specifically 7+ which has become worse after the most recent iOS upgrade as well as BMW Connected app upgrade. Do you have anything like this?
Connected Drive people are not helpful at all.

Bmw Genius told me the ConnectedDrive works best with Android

So I just kept mum

Have you tried rebooting your iDrive and your phone ?

Rebooting does not help. It simply does not work well with Apple phones indeed.

I did. And lowered my appetite after this.

I am no longer able to receive sms messages but still able to read google emails (however it is useless for me).

The only useful thing is an ability to see my calendar. However connection to Connected Drive apps requires most of the time to do it manually by multiple clicking at the app box. Sigh.
