Consumption of BMW cars

Hi All,

I know that fuel consumption is very subjective but just wondering if any BMW drivers can share how many km they are getting on 1 litre of petrol for their respective models and driving patterns?


I will start the ball rolling.

Model: 730Li
Consumption: 5km/l
Driving Pattern: 40% highway and 60% city

Seems pretty thirsty to me even though I am pretty gentle with the throttle.

mine's a 740Li and im getting roughly the same FC as u but im on 21" now.

when it was still stock (18"), i would get around 5.5-5.8km/l

2009 E60 525, stock except for 19"s.

75% city driving.

8.2 km/l.

2007 E60 525 LCI , stock with 19" M5 rims

75% highway

(my previous experience with IS250, i could easily get 10-11km/l......)

IS250-10.2l/100km-weight 1650kg

Camry 2.0-9km/l-weight 1485 kg

Camry 2.4-8.1 km/l-weight 1540 kg

I am driving e90 stock on 18 inch m sport rims getting 600km on full tank.

E90, 320i, 2007, 35K mileage YTD. 7.9km/L. I think I'm the champ in FC for E90 in stock condition.

I don't have a heavy right foot - yet I can't reach some of the figures posted above

E90 325i on 17s, 7.2 km / l; 95% city and 5% highway

The 730Li and 740Li figures look very scary.

At first when you read the title - Consumption of BMW Cars.
You think; hmmm, do people eat BMWs boiled, grilled, or with a side of fries?

Not very stock.

90/10% - City/Highway
8-9km/l.

Couple of weeks ago.
I reset the km/l readings.
Took a nice very gentle drive 80-90km/h along the AYE
Bukit Merah to Tuas.
15.8km/l !!

thought i was driving a Mitsubishi-i for a moment.

1. Regular driving - 50% express way, 50% city & minor roads - average 8.5 km/l
2. Express way at 80 km/h without breaks - 17km/l
3. On NSE at 110 km/h - 15km/l

E60 523i with 19" rims & Powerbox.

80% city 20% highway.
7.8km/l (it was slightly better before I installed Powerbox )

E90 320i (2008 model), 19" Rim,V-Power

9.3L/km on the computer screen. Recently, I did the ECU remapped, still monitoring.

New with stock was about 10.5L/km then it drop slowly to the numbers now...of course my itchy hands on upgrades did not help the FC
