Conti 5 Run Flat Tyre

Hi all bros, needing your advise and feedback..

My tyre 225/55R17 Runflat is about to bald soon.. Needs to change..
A few questions below, pls help if you knows anything... Thanks greatly !!

1) Is Continental 5 - Run Flat tyre very quiet ? As I need quietness to be priority.
2) This tyre price is $ 450 per piece.. Is it expensive ? Also needs feedback that had used this before ?
3) Any other Run Flat this size to be very quiet and cheaper ? Needs quiet..
4) Those bros that changed to non run flat, did you regret ? and wishes to change
back to run flat ?
As I also thinking of changing to non run flat, but if puncture, I need pay for towing..
Not so worth it right ?

you can opt for non run flat tyres (lighter and cheaper) and if worried of any punctures, the BMW tyre repair kit will work.

Just my 2 cents.

if u go Malaysia often, then stick with RF, else in Sg u have RF for wat?

But if puncture and no air, the repair kit can only repair it, but air still needs to
drive to petrol station to pump in, right ?
My current run flat tyre for 2 years never puncture once before.. Really lasting..

So dilemma what is the best way now..

Puncture or not is just heng/sway. Nothing to do with run flat or not. My run flat tyre kena nails two times and was patched up.

Like mw said, if you don't drive to Malaysia, there is really no need for run flats. Yes, you might need to call tow truck when you get a real bad puncture, but I don't think it happens everyday. If you are really that unlucky, better just take taxi.

But a repair kit with 12V electric pump. Done.

RFT does not make any sense in SG

Even go Malaysia run flat also may not save you. Imagine you are on Cameron highlands or karak highway, you think your run flat really can tahan till you find a tyre shop that actually stocks your profile?

I was on cinturato p7 previously. Not noisy, but not quietest. Comfort is ok. Steering feel was very weird. Changed to bigger rim and suddenly steering felt like another car. And I mean that in a good way.

NRF if you drive only in Singapore. Worse case tow lor!
Change my 225/45R18 RF to GY AS2 245/40R18, so much better!

to be fair to run flat tyre let me share my MHO
that's always pros and cons
what most commented are disadvantages of run flat tyre = advantages of Non run flat tyre

if you are the type hate all the hassle of thinking what to do when you have a flat tyre especially along express way
cant Imaging when you had a flat tyre and your car is stuck along express way ,what should you do now
start calling for help like workshop / tyre shop / PML / friends / husband/ family members .?
don't worry LTA EMAS should be there ( I said should be there) within few minutes to recuse you (faster and only approved service provider) while waiting you ? alone? with families / friend / Business associate / colleagues
what happen the Free service EMS take 60 mins to be there?
please do remembers , not everyone is hands on and know how to handle situation like above.
my personal POV , if you want to be 99% free from above situation, use only run flat tyre when it came as stock (meaning you are already experience it
WHY should you take away the advantages of what you were given .
Just 1 typical example , 1 said why do we need ABS when it cost him few $1000 to replaced his ABS system.
NO need ABS ,how often ABS kicks in after driving for so many years
make your own wise decision , is you driving your car and carrying your passenger

My car mainly drive NS highway and i use non RF .
Just spare one set tyre repair kit and portable pump good enough.
When the non RF tyre is beyond repair by repair kit, RF won't survive much too.

I never had a run flat tyre in my entire life .......

When going to malaysia .... I just bring a tyre repair kit.

Thanks to all bros that contributed.. I have digested it and decided on repair
kit and pump and non RF tyres.. Since repair kit and pump are invented, then
better make use of it and have more comfort on tyres and ride..

If you buy repair kit, don't buy liquid sealant type, but the rubber stick one.
If sealant type too big hole it wont seal up the leaks yet rubber stick one you can put 2 to temporary seal up the hole.

I buy from Stamford tyre, portable air pump $60, repair kit $5 when offer time.

Hi Bros, anyone can advise run flat tyres (F10) 17" can last how long? SE told me that it will last me 50km, Currently mine is around 33k/2yrs, do i need to get it change???

50 km is only from Pasir Ris to end Tuas, so short ? haha..

Actually it depends on one's driving pattern and etc.. You can check the
pattern marker whether it touches it.. Once it touches, then it is time
to change tyres.. You can drive to any tyre shop to check how long more
it can lasts.. cheers..
