Hi fellow forummers,
My front CSC3 is quite botak already. I'm thinking of sticking to CSC3 or change to PS2, but I have never been on PS2 so I don't know the differences between the two. Can some kind souls pls give me some input regarding the diff between the two tyres?
Btw i like CSC3 because it's quite good in the rain.

Also thought of CSC5 but I guess it must be much more expensive than the above 2 ya?

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

Have used both on my current ride. PS2 is better in terms of wet/dry grip and noise. But PS2 loses out in sidewall stiffness and threadwear (stand corrected).

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

I thot PS2 phasing out liao, replaced by PS3 and Pilot Super Sport. I had PS2s, but swapped out to GY F1 Assyms. Good enough for me.
i also support Hankook V12.. their girls chio... and is cheep

CSC5P - Quiet. Has rear specific tyre pattern for staggered wheels (2 centre ribs). 1.2 kg lighter than F1 Assym. Has a broader shoulder block than F1. Highest threadwear index between F1, MSS & CSC5P.

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

Mock - PS3 is NOT a replacement for PS2.

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

^ Or that's what I read, ps2 replacements split between ps3 and pilot super sport because the range of cars using ps2 got so big they split the target segment into 2 groups.

Thanks Ken. I also heard that PS2 is better, but it's good to hear from someone who has used both PS2 and CSC3.
Regarding sidewall stiffness, may I know what it means? Paiseh I am not very good on tyres....

Thanks Read_Bean_Bun. CSC5 should be better than CSC3. I will check out the price diff.
May I know what it means by "rear specific tyre pattern for staggered wheels (2 centre ribs)".

Robot : I am on CSC3, found it to be a little bit noisy, not sure if PS3 or PSS will be quieter. If you want to check out CSC3 prices, can try Latest Tyres Prices | Buy Tyres Online in Singapore, China, Hong Kong Malaysia & Korea | Tyrepac ? Asia?s First Tyre Portal, I got mine from them before, prices quite good when I got my CSC3 last Dec from them, better than Stamford and LS.
hi Ah Wei, agreed it's noisy. Luckily I changed my exhaust also so now I can't hear anything in the car, ha ha.
Have checked out the link you gave me, definitely cheaper than Stamford that chop-carrot-head shop. I'm surprised they are better than LS. But I will ask around, gam siah too for your help!

That day I try to go up to 85.69km/h, and my car never skid, so I thought it should be quite good in the rain.....

PS3, ok, I will check that out too. The 320threadwear sounds good too.

You are not a little more aggressive driver than me, you are a lot more aggressive than me! May you bring me good luck tonight. Toto huat ah!

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

PS2 is softer compound, so you might feel wavering steering feeling during cornering..... hence I switched to RE11......

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

I'm on my 3rd set of PS2, so winner is PS2 hands down. like Kenn said best grip for wet/dry and side wall can be improve. noise level is good however the wear rate is fast if you rev or drag a lot to gain power, unless you don't rev you car take off moderately. I used CSC2 before I got on PS2. the drive is totally different. PS2 is very good even its BOTAK.

i would like to try on PS3 next.

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

guys there is no perfect tire.....michelin prob spends the most in research amongst all the tire companies.

u r in a conti forum...of cos everyone here says michelin csc etc. does that mean bridgestone sux? go to SHC forum n u will see bridgestone rules.

anyway good has so many definition. no one tire beats all in everything. sound, wear, wet, dry, lateral, acceleration, weight......so whats impt to u? do u really think u corner at 0.9 G all the time and hence u need ps2? i dun think so.....its good to have the best street tires, but u give up on sound, wear, wet grip...

go with ur driving style. personally for me, in order......weight, grip, sound....for the lamb. on the gti its weight, sound, grip....

Re: CSC3 vs PS2

Easily resolved by me: used both concurrently now since I can't decide :)

Front : CSC3 235/35/ZR19;
Rear: PS2 265/30/ZR19

how much did u pay?

For a set of V12s, 235/45/17 & 255/40/17, paid about $800 cos they had a 30% off promo in january

here's BMWCAR's article on Micheline PSS: http://bmwcarmagazine.com/products/index.cfm/2010/12/16/Tyre-Test-Michelin-Pilot-Super-Sport

The PS2 had evolved into such a dominant tyre, it became the OE choice for over 200 vehicles and its size range was vast: available width sizes went from 205 to 345, profiles from 25 to 55 and diameters from 17- to 22-inches. You would struggle to find a performance car that had a tyre size not covered by the PS2. The problem with offering such a wide range of configurations with one tyre, though, was that the demands made by a car fitted with a 17-inch tyre are completely at odds with a supercar that runs with 20-inch wheels and tyres, or larger. Hence Michelin’s decision to replace the PS2 with not one, but two specific tyres to better suit the needs and requirements of the cars they’ll be fitted to.

The new Pilot Sport 3 has been designed for the more day-to-day end of the performance market, while the Pilot Super Sport has been manufactured with high performance and supercars in mind.

^Agree with Toto's post tho, i think most of us prob won't drive to the extremes of those UHP tyres to fully exploit their performance.

I see, thanks for sharing. But at least I learn about what is "sidewall stiffness". :D
Not sure if PS2's softer compound will be a significant factor for my car and driving style, unless I try it out.....

I see, thanks for sharing both the good and bad. You are really my hero. :inlove:
Grip is important, noise level not important because my exhaust drown all other noises anyway, wear rate is important too because I poor, must make sure tyres is used for longer period, ke ke.
I rarely rev or drag. Only when I feel being poked by a very fast e90 on the highway. :D

toto what is "lateral"? btw, good advice.

Just to share with everyone my order.....grip, wear. Because I like to chiong in heavy rain. Makes me high, better than sex actually. Wear rate important because I poor.
Sound not important, reason as stated earlier. Weight not applicable - my own weight already shaves 0,5s off my car's 0-100. ok la joking only, hee hee.
