The Defi controller can't interface with the BMW ECU without a converter so it can't display speed, rpms, etc but if you have sensors linked up it will be able to display, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, exhaust temp, boost pressure, etc.

Actually, I have been using it without the reflective film. It does help to have some form of window tint on the windscreen, but there is still a bit of a double image if you don't use the bundled reflective film.

But mine is a Japanese ride though.

Defi produces at least 3 of these VSD HUDs.

There is a basic model with speed and revs. One is designed to read boost. And the highest end model will do speed/revs but when linked up with a Defi Control Unit, can be used to cycle through the sensors you have installed (eg water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure, boost, exhaust temp etc).

Most VSD units can display two readings at the same time (usu speed in digital readout and revs in a bar display).

Called up the S'pore Defi distributor, ST Powered.

The guy who answered the call confirmed that they've installed the VSD HUD on E46 and E39s before.

Any Beemer guys out there have one on your dasboard?
