Hi guys,
was wondering if anyone could help... recently I was driving happily at night. I came to a junction i wanna turn left. Turn on my signal and as I was making my move, I saw that a motorcycle was approaching from behind on my left. His lane was marked purely for turning so without much thoughts i continued my turn. The unfortunate happened!!...The idiot was trying to go straight, i saw it and immediately steer right to give way but it was slightly too late. Accident did not happened but the idiot lost control, brake just about next to my car and fell over, yes...towards my car. Then i realised he is a P-plate rider with his gf behind him. His gf was slightly hurt due to the fall.
We pulled over and i offered my help to see if his gf is alright. I thought nothing happens it's good and as it was night time, I could not see if there is any damage to my car. He apologised and i left without much thought.
The next day morning....shit.....noticed a slight dent on my car, the reflections clearly shown the dent could have been caused by his fall. no scratches, just the reflections is not smooth. I tried to attach some pictures.
anyone know if this could be fix?

Re: Dents!! Bloody P-plate riders!!

If the paint work is stil good and the dent is not too big, you could send your car in for one of those massage thingy to get the dent repaired. There's one at the old Capitol. I'm not too sure about their quality though.

Re: Dents!! Bloody P-plate riders!!

From what I can figure out from the dent. The shop at capitol might not be able to do it as they are more expert in doing coin-size dent. U could use Mr Tommy Soh at Lye Design, AMK autopoint. He is an expert in such matters. Need to make appt first as he is usually packed.

Cheers!

Uncle Tommy superb, just bang bang bang with his hammer, twist twist twist with his self-made tool.....Gau Dim...about 1+ hour time...can lim kopi and smoke somemore while he was doing it...
I got a few others "unnoticeable/can't be bother" dents too....total 250 down. Today England better win man.

Is Tommy running a body painting shop or just body shop without spraying painting?
Need to send my Bimmer to spray for the side skirt. Besides, i am looking for OEM paint quality finish, where can i find one?
Thanks.

Re: Dents!! Bloody P-plate riders!!

OEM paint quality finish? that's setting the bar real low..... any half-baked paint shop should be able to do it.

From what I seen at his shop, it's just a body shop. He don't have his own oven but custom works and paint is possible.

Bro, for a good paintjob on a Bimmer, you can't go wrong with Mike of Sin Wee Chuan. Check the Resources Folder above.

Lye Design is more well known for panel beating, removing dents, fender rolling etc. He does not have his own paintshop... that's a problem.

Re: Dents!! Bloody P-plate riders!!

i got very little paint chip on the door edge, can someone recommend a place and do some magic?

I had an encounter with a P-plated bike a few days ago too on PIE

What happened is traffic suddenly came to a stop downslope of PIE due to an accident ahead. Everyone in 1st lane braked hard, but not a full E-brake and I stopped half a car length from the e60 in front and I'm on the apex of the slope. The car behind me, a taxi was 3 or 4 car lengths behind, also stopped.

While glancing at the taxi from the rear view mirror, I noticed a bike rocketing uphill, past the taxi, right at my stationary car. I'm guessing he's going at 100 or even more because he didn't even seem to slow down upslope.

Afraid of having the driver killed by smashing into my car boot, I turned my car slightly towards the centre divider.. then followed by the dreaded "pang" sound. after he shot past me, he turned and looked at me, and I saw he's a bloody P-plate rider and that's the last I saw him...

That left me wondering throughout the journey, was he glad he's alive, or was he cursing me for blocking his way?

I was for a moment wondering the slight evasive maneouvre caused him to knock into me at the left taillamp side. In the end, I concluded by turning my car slightly, to avoid him on instinct, the rear did not jut out at all, because the turn was slight, but my lamp and paintwork is dented and scratched nonetheless.

The conclusion is he either did not see the whole queue of stationary cars and was riding recklessly, or he is riding recklessly, and did not have enough skill to handle the bike at such speeds and tight situation

Any bikers here can clarify the steering of a bike at high speeds require seperate support points rather than using the steering handle bars as means of support? I have ridden jet skis, and noticed to steer the boat, I cannot use the steering bars as support, and instead, I have to grip the seat with my tighs, and it will be easier to control the jet ski. Its not easy gripping the slippery seat for support at high speeds though

In summary, reckless riding a bike without sufficient skills will cause danger not only to themselves, but other road users as well..
