Hi,

I might drive to KL next week but being a novice to driving in KL, may i know what precaution you guys take when your tyre hit a nail and "lao hong" halfway there?
My car dun have any spare tyre but as i am on 19 rim, i guess even for spare tyre, what is the minimum size to have?

Any emergency number for towing if the car break down----this is just in case.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Driving to KL

Bro Terras, I will also be driving up to KL/Genting sometime next month and as such would like to "borrow" your thread to ask any of the forum brudders here whether you guys have had experience parking your cars in the Genting carpark? Safe? Any better place to park in Genting?

I know there are many BMWs in Malaysia and no ill intent meant here but I'm kinda paranoid when it comes to the security of my car in Malaysia. I know the alternative is not to drive but its a multi family holiday so not cool to say F off to the rest haha!

Any advise is appreciated.

Sorry to OT on your thread Terras.

Ur car will be safe but u will be in danger. Merc & BMW are not stolen in MY. These cars are carjacked. So, take bus to Genting.

It's hard to say safe or not. Can only say heng or suan ba.
Parked few times at first hotel multi carpark n theme resort open carpark, heng nothing happened.
For multi carpark there will be security guards.
Maybe can try valet there. Most important don't seek unwanted attraction by leaving valuable thing inside car.
Driving on NSHW is fun... Have a nice trip.
Myself will be driving up to genting again on end April :)

Re: Driving to KL

Thanks for the inputs uys, I've parked my previous ride (Harrier) at the multi storey carpark before no problem. Made sure I always park head in and lock the steering at full turn. Guess that was my little way of evading any tow trucks.

Now that its a RWD car... wonder should I still park head in? haha:uhhh:

So the trick to prevent car stolen is to park head in?
No wonder most msians like to park head in... Hehe

Re: Driving to KL

Ya was told to park head in (better corner lot) then turn steering wheel full lock so that if anyone tries to tow the car out, no way to do so cos of the full turn locked steering wheel.

Terras, you might wish to considergetting a spare tire just for the trip? I believe there might be a few bros here who might still have their spare tires lying about.

I'm on runflats for now so no worries yet. Hope it helps

Only works for FWD to prevent tow trunk from towing the car away.

The longer time u waste getting into ur car, the higher chance of being car jack.

Simple rule:
Park nearest to elevator landing with head out.

Spare tyre no use also if so bad luck. Juz get a tire repair kit will be enough. On E39, i have nvr maintain my spare tyre. I keep tyre repair kit only.

Stone chips? Dun tailgate lorries when they cut into your path.

I was also thinking if going to Johnson to paste some body colored vinyl on the lower part and some clear wrap for the headlights. Then again last time drove all the way to Phuket also Bo chap haha. Just respray touch up when you feel like it la.
