maybe. but i rather not spend time messing with the polis yang ber-raja. got better things to do. i have driven no less than 200 times between sg and kl in the last 5 years.

Seriously , my wife from Ipoh and i used to travel back to Ipoh every once a month ... Jb tol to Ipoh tol fastest once 3.5 hour. I know it may sound crazy but honestly with my 525 e60 lovely ride .. I do feel comfort and steady while cruising 160 to 220 km/h .. But of cos , to me safety always come first and I only speed at straight road and don like to tailgate as well : ) and for sure , a high beam also vy useful while overtaking and giving signal to those tot they are driving pretty fast at first lane but in fact only 120km/h

Re: Driving up north with your BMW

One big note to remember, get out of the right lane even you're at 200km/h. Otherwise, always see what's behind you....

High beam buses and trucks when you're approaching their right side (overtaking), this is to ensure they don't come out. This is what I normally do, as they change lane like their father road.

Finally, have a further sight on the road, don't just monitor the car in front of you...try to see beyond the immediate car in front.

My 2cents. Clock 20,000km in 9mths on NSHW. Summons 11pcs. Top speed 240km/h on F10.

holiday season. hard to do 150km/h. let alone on the left lane.

drive safely.

ouch. sigh. so how?

no choice. Repair at own cost. Items claim travel insurance. But must make sure have malaysia police report. In malay also never mind, the insurance company can find translator

Re: Driving up north with your BMW

Sigh. All this cannonball runs of 3.5h to Ipoh, 5h to Penang, 45m to KL.... all consigned to the annals of history, legend and myth... what with the whole NSHW fitted with (working, for now) speed trap cameras....

The fastest I've ever done from Sultan Abu Bakar Complex to KL was just a shade under 2h. This was way back when I was still driving the old (but rock solid) E65. Rarely did the speedometer dip from the 220km/h mark, and we didn't even stop to pee. Back then, bi-Xenons were the brightest things on the road, and at 5am, my E65 lit up the NSHW like a fcuking Christmas tree with her headlights. No speed cameras, no PDRM, no traffic, and no sleeping cows on the highway.

Just an endless stretch of wide open road, clear skies and my balls made from fortified, unadulterated titanium. Oh, to be young and foolhardy once again....

Re: Driving up north with your BMW

on a side note, any bros know where the cameras are stationed or how much the fine is?

i think driving up to KL at any speed below 150 on a bimmer is a torture =(
sleep-inducing and doing no justice to the car..

Re: Driving up north with your BMW

After akna so many times, I believe their lasergun squad has no definite location. I got fines twice on same location. Best is to prepare two wallets, one slotted with rm30 and the rest into the other . I will bargain with them by opening up my decoyed wallet instead of paying rm100 like everyone else did.

I heard best chiong above 140km/hr to remain undetectable.

No leh above 200 the camera still can catch.. Think need m sports at 300 then undetectable haha

Re: Driving up north with your BMW

It is recommended to have higher tyre pressures if you are planning to travel at higher speeds.

lol 300 on nshw? next moment is up in smokes, confirm undetectable, speed difference between 300 and the avg cruising speed there say 140 is more than double leh

Re: Driving up north with your BMW

i see mainly 5/7series bimmers, E/Sclass mercs, easily cruising >200 at nshw on my trips up KL ..

if talking about M-sport..... the e60 M5 just needs a simple ECU tweak to remove its speed limiter, then the savage v10 beast will unleash its full power and chase down its target mercilessly at 330kmph top speed. i dare say doing between 280-310 will be no issues for the car..
