hi, mine is currently an m20 e34 520.

will changing the Air flow sensor to the one the m50 engine use... ( i think its called air mask?)

will it improve performance?

from what someone told me it will?

also... the e34 accelerator is not a variable resistor kind? just a switch?

how much does the air mask or air flow sensor cost ?

also for obit II tuning is it really useful? does it work? and how does it work?

=) thx

Re: e34 intake mod

Hi Dude,

The air intake upgrade you're mentioning is a MAF (Mass Air Flow) conversion.
Essentially, it changes your air flow sensor from the barn door type to the MAF sensor. You'd also need to install an OBIT so as to enable your ECU to adapt to the new sensor settings, and you can tune to you preference. I believe the full MAF conversion will cost around $1.8K to $2K.

Performance-wise, there would definitely be improvements as the OBIT will help to maximise the performance of the engine with the newly-installed MAF sensor.
Actually, if you can top up abit more, you could channel the funds to other types of mods which will also bring about significant improvements to your ride ... PM me for more details.

Cheers.
