Re: e34 rims question

Hi Dude,

Welcome to the E34ers! Are you running on a 12v M20 or 24v M50 version?

18" rims would really up the look factor for an E34, particularly if you ride's lowered.
The ideal size would be between 18 X 8.5J to 18 X 9J. Offset is between 20 to 21. Based on those sizes, you'd normally use 235/40/18 profile for the rims, although I've known some people who've used 225 and 245 (for rear) as well on staggered set-ups.

Brands-wise, there's heaps of rim options out there in the market, ranging from original BMW rims (Nowadays, I see quite a fair bit of E34s using stock E60 rims) to Hamman, ACs, Alpinas ... only thing is they may be quite hard to fine unless you're ordering new ones. You'd probably need to get centre bores for aftermarket rims.

In addition, there's also the Taiwan-made replicas by RM if you'd like other alternatives.

Good luck on your rim hunt dude! :)

Re: e34 rims question

Body of the E34 looks kind of bulky (big), I personally think that it'll need a min 18' to make the car looks nice?
I got a set of Hamann hm2 18' rims for my car, but not with some hiccups until I got some good advises from good bros in this forum to solve my rims problem, here's the story http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/help-whats-happening-my-bmw/16291-hamann-18-rims.html?highlight=Batam

oh e60 stock rims can? but.... what size are they? also...

sorry i'll ask some stupid questions...

18(i guess is rim size) X ?? what does the 8.5 or 9J stand for?

and what are offsets? is it the higher the more protruded from the body they are?

235/...... 245/.... ? this is how wide the tires are? the higher the wider?

and what is staggered? means front bigger or rear bigger than the other? what are the benefits?

then the .../40/..... and ..../35/.... what are these?

hahaha

pardon me for all this questions thx for the reply =D

=)
