Could someone here can explain what is a Valve Body? Mine was told having problem. Was advised to change? How much will it cost or is it better to Buy a recond or to Overhaul the Gearbox?

Valve Body is a kind of instrument inside the gearbox. Silver in colour. I cant really explain indetails as it i svery technical.
