my original e36 320i often beat e46 318i on the road very easily.even today i tried that with one e46 318i driver who tried racing with me. hands down i won.is e36 engine better than e46?

If you are racing with E46 318i 1.9L, if you can beat it easily but not the 318i 2.0 Valvetronics

Anyways, you should not racing on the road :furious:

If you want to proved how powerful your E36 320i, you should join the track day.

Well, the e46 318i is a 2L engine with a 4-inline cylinders, as for the 320i, its 2.2L with 6 cylinders. 6 cylinder will run smoother then the 4 one as it will not be so strain to produce the same amount of power
