E36 Carbon Airbox for 6potter

Just wondering if anyone does come across below attached Carbon Airbox. Wonder if there's any possibility of it lying is someone's storeroom or so.... kekkek

Or anyone have K&N open pod kit?

The airbox in the pic is only meant for M3s with ITBs. Unless you have ITBs fitted onto your engine, you can't use that airbox.

Looking at yr M3, i think it shldnt be any problem fixing it into yr car.. Unless yours is the US spec version...

If so, u can do that too, but its way too hassle, labour intensive n pricey too. N u need to remap yr ECU too..

ITB = Individual Throttle Body.

p/s: Whats your engine btw?...

Bro u dun need the dbilas... TheCarbon Airbox pic u posted will fit your car perfectly, pnp, provided yr car is the euro spec..

i have this airbox.
i used it on my e36 m3 in the past but have since taken it out.
i can sell it to you if you want it.

advantages:
looks cool
noticeable difference in the intake sound.
perhaps slight increase in performance.
bragging rights (if any at all)

disadvantages:
only the top half is carbon layered. bottom part is fibreglass.
the inside of the box has an extremely rough construction. i was very disappointed.
because the trumpets are made of fibreglass they are very fragile and brittle. u have to be extremely careful when you tighten it. not to mention that 1 or 2 of the trumpets initially did not even align to the throttle bodies.
because the open pod air filter will be burried very low in the bumper, that means you have to drive very very carefully in the rain or dont drive it at all for fear of water being sucked into the engine.
it is a bitch to install. i will pity your mechanic.

seriously, stick with the original m3 set up.
it looks much much more refined.
as for software, it never came with any but i have come across somewhere in the net about some parties offering this. please check on this.
it will run fine without the software. the only thing is i cant well you if the airbox is generating as much bhp without it as it claims.
