E46 325 Cab - Fuel consumption

My 2nd tank of fuel only but noticed that a the consumption is rather high.

16L/100km according to on board computer.

Almost 3/4 tank gone and only clock 260+ km.

No fuel leakage, travelling on expressway and normal roads, not in any serious jam or prolonged idling etc....

Will try one more tank to confirm its consumption.

Re: E46 325 Cab - Fuel consumption

Hi Alex,
Same here. On my 325Ci, mostly city driving, 19" rims, sprintbooster. Get only about 300km before fuel light comes one. Approx. 5.7km per litre only.... Anyone else here getting much better consumption on their cars?

Re: E46 325 Cab - Fuel consumption

wow... thats bad for a 325 cab guys!

My previous 325 cabrio was doing about 11.0 - 12.0 L/100km... sometimes even can go as low as 10.7 L / 100km.

My maser does 6.0 km/ litre, so it seems pretty high if a 325 cab does 5.7 km/litre...

strange..

Agree that the consumption is strange.

My rims only 17".....

Re: E46 325 Cab - Fuel consumption

Alex, you need the HP air filter.

my fuel consumption dropped from 10.5L/100km to 9.9L/100km as read by the OBC, mix of city and highway.

if i reset my OBC just before hitting the highway, i'll get 6.7L- 7.5L /100km with the top down, depending on my speed.... 6.7L/100km was like my freaking all time record....

Good question. Must be a combination of heavy foot and almost 100% city driving. I'm already on K&N filters. Any other suggestions on how to improve FC? Cheers

Re: E46 325 Cab - Fuel consumption

My 325 does about 11.8-12l / 100km based on onboard computer using the metal gauze Hurricane drop-in.

Silver Techron (95ron) from Caltex gives me slightly greater mileage over Shell 98... strange.
