E46 Stall due to lack of patrol

Hi Bros,

My bro in law's 318 stalled yesterday because the patrol main tank ran out and the reserve tank was not activated. PML diagnosed that the sensor that switches to the reserve tank was faulty and it would be changed under warranty coverage.

My question is would there be any form of engine damage we should look out for when the car suddenly runs out of patrol while in motion?

The short period of fuel starvation should not poise any problem to the car engine and fuel system.

i got a problem simiar to that on my 320i on the 3rd day of getting my car. Apparently, the fuel pump is faulty on alot of models esp the FL ones. I went back and they replace it with a brand new one. Till today, No Issues.

I've replaced the fuel pump under warranty. More common for the E46 FL produced around late 2002 to mid 2003.
