AFAIK, 3rd quater 2000 is the transition period, but cars from PML that are registered in 2001 should all come with multi function steering with cruise control, memory seats etc.

Well, like I say, that period is the transition period, so luck dependent lor. If you sway, kena an earlier production car, than you kena the rectangle steering. It applies to 318i too, as a friend had a november 2000 318, and his car came with multifunction car like my 320i. He insisted on the multifunction at the time of purchase, and his CSA obliged, at the same price of a whopping 158k!!!.
