E60 Active steering light on

Hi all,

Need some advise. If the active steering light come on, how major is the repair and should I go back PML or are there any other alternative workshops....

steering rack plus column ard 4k plus...w/ install easily 5k....

could be a faulty steeering angle sensor, codename SZL by BMW.

is it the yellow or red error light.

yellow can keep driving... red permanent no choice but to repair.

Encounter this problem 2 months back, got it fix for faulty steeering angle sensor - $1400 repair cost.

You could try turning the wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right( foot off the brake and in park) twice, this is a reset proceedure that bmw use, it worked on my car 10 minuites ago
