Superb condition E60 BMW523i registered 22 July 2006 ; OMV $51'716; COE $10'600 ; exterior colour Olive; interior Grey, bought new from Performance Motors. ONE Lady owner-driver, always garaged in basement carpark, washed almost everyday, buyer will get new registration number. This car is under-used by owner who travels frequently. Superb condition just like new! Those looking to buy new should consider this.
Serious buyers only, please SMS to 9181 6933 for initial discussion.

Re: E60 for sale!!!

Thanks Totoseow!
Anyway, an update, the mileage to date is 4'800+ km!!! It still smells new!
Picture? Absolutely no need for a pic - it is stock and looks as good as new!!!
Surely you know what a 523i looks like?
As for price, of course seller wants the highest price and buyer wants the lowest price. The purpose of posting here is that hopefully some end-user enthusiast can buy direct from us, thereby paying less that what he has to pay to the car dealer and we get more than what we can from selling to a used car dealer. Buyer and seller win-win.
So do your homework and let's negotiate ... but only if you are serious and ready to deal. Go check out what the new car price is, what Performance Premium Used cars is charging for similar cars and then you decide.
Sorry, not trying to sound arrogant, forgive me, but please, no time wasters please! At this sort of low mileage, it is a real PREMIUM USED car. Tell your friends if they are looking for a superb used E60!

E60 523i for sale at $152'000

We are asking $152'000 for this superb, low-mileage, almost brand-new 523i, guaranteed accident-free, guaranteed 1 lady-owner-driver.
Dont miss if you are looking for a new or good used 523i

Re: E60 for sale!!!

Bro i was quoted $156,506 by PML after all the rebate stuff 2 days ago for 523....

Cheers!

Re: E60 for sale!!!

I tend to believe you but how much was the OFFICIAL selling price? You have to compare apples to apples. Our price is net to the buyer.
We are not a used car dealer so we cant quote you over-trade, financing rebates, etc so actually this direct-owner-selling-to-direct-buyer arrangement makes sense to those buyers who have sufficient own funds or those who have access to financing.
However if you take the difference of 3.5% and 2.8% and apply that to $152'000 for 9 years, you can get a "rebate" of $9'576 so you are paying $142'424 for our virtually-new-gently-driven-low-mileage" car! Talk about "creative accounting" and fudging the figures.
Understanding the financing of a new car is not rocket-science but these days with financing rebates, cash up-front, over-trades, etc, many consumers are happily confused but, at the end of the day, these rebates are just your own cost! Just remember, the car finance rate is a FLAT RATE!
There is a forum-er who traded in his E46 for a new E90 and got $9'000 cash back, with a $120'000 loan for the next 10 years ... oh wow, how much interest is he paying? $42'000 total interest, that is 35% of his loan amount! So how much was his new car? $129'000? Really?

I summarise, this offer works for those with access to their own funds or financing.

Re: E60 for sale!!!

but u forget this will be a 2nd owner..not brand new...

Re: E60 for sale!!!

Agree, thats why this is equivalent to $142'000 against a new price of $156'000 taking into account the condition, low mileage etc.
Try and take a look at the prices that PPS is charging for their Premium Used BMWs.

PPS extends the warranty of the car, how much warranty extension if its purchased from you?

Re: E60 for sale!!!

But people are buying PPS used cars at not much less than the new car price - for reasons best known to them.
But each used car is different with regards to the condition, usage, mileage etc. And in any case, it's a willing seller willing buyer.
$130'000 ? Honestly, ask yourself, where can you get a similar car for that price? Seriously, a few used car dealers offered us more than that! Unless you tell me that BMWs dont keep their value? :)

Anyway, we posted it here thinking that some enthusiast might want to buy direct but I guess that is why the used car dealers are doing a roaring business. :)

Re: E60 for sale!!!

If the prices are just a little lower than the dealers, I would rather buy from the dealers because they will settle all the paper work for the buyer.

If the price of a slightly used BMW is selling so close to a new car, most people will rather get a new car. Not forgetting BMW is a premium marque and people will not mind paying thousands more for a brand new car. :juggle:

Anyway good luck in your sale. :)

Re: E60 for sale!!!

Dear Forumers,

Please allow me to give my 2 cents worth. I am currently looking for a used 523i, preferably 1 year old. As much as it hurts, paying $152K for a 7/8 mth old used 523i is too high. There are a few reasons pertaining to why i make this comment;

1. The new 523i is about 157K or thereabouts and it's really how you negiotiate with the SE. They earn their commission from the bank loan you take, so rebate or not, you should be paying about there. Even if you pay cash, the price you pay will not be too far away.

2.I

2. I bought my present 318i from PML when it was 7 mths old and i paid 112K when the brand new costs about 130k. That's about 18K loss from the first owner. Depreciation for cars in Singapore is the highest in the first 2 years and straight line depreciation does not apply. Furthermore, you are already the 2nd owner.

3. I have asked around and few friends from the used car market lamented that such a used car would be taken in by them for about $138K. Max $140K. I may be wrong, but I believe the deviation should be about $2K.

4. Other components such as transfer fees, higher interest rates should also be taken into consideration.

5. The new facelift will be out before the end of this year and the current E60 will depreciate even more. That's why I am holding off my purchase until then or unless somebody really gives me a solid and irresistable price.

I sincerely hope nobody is offended by my post as it's just my opinion.

Ciao

Re: E60 for sale!!!

Dear Bros,

Anyway, I do agree with Nitrox. Shd have just left the thread alone instead of messing it up. Itchy fingers lah! Best of luck to alexalex for the sale of his car. Nevertheless, we should agree that BMW produces one of the best cars in the world.

Cheers
