E60 for sale!!!

Re: E60 for sale!!!

Er.. advice to Alex is to sell now at the best possible price he can get. Of course we can all understand that as the seller he would want the highest possible price, but u gotta see the writing on the wall.

Time is against ya.. especially with the new facelifted 523 coming.

1. Regenerative Breaking... sexy isit this? Alternator driving battery will not suck power, u get every ounce of power during hard acceleration.

2. Higher power/torque from direct injection 2.5L block. The new 523 engine closes the gap between the old 23 and 25 engines. U also get better FC to boot.

3. It has improved I-Drive and such.

4. There's also the new gear knob and such.

Bottom line is PML will be (or is already) clearing their old 523 stock very soon... at prices that will quite seriously impact your asking price.

Re: E60 for sale!!!

$138'800 Sep 2005 19'800 km
$136'000 Oct 2005 Mileage?
$138'000 July 2005 38'000km!
$139'800 Nov 05 21'000km
$133'800 May 2005 39'800km! 2 owners!

After reading ho2786's latest postings, I extracted the above information from sgcarmart. As I said earlier, we have to compare apples with apples. Those cars mentioned above are all year 2005. And please look at the mileage! And none are near to $130'000 as he said. To recap, ours is July 2006 with 4'800km. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

Louis commented that "...people who've posted here are just looking out for folks who might not know what the current market rate is>" - Sorry, I do find that a tad insulting and really uncalled for, If you still think we are here to cheat people, you should consult a friend who can explain to you the financial principles here. If a product is $5 and I sell it to you for $10, that is cheating. No two used cars will have the same current market rate (sic) or market value. In any case, value is in the eye of the beholder.

We can all express our opinions but let us not degrade into personal insults.
I do trust that people who come to this forum are BMW lovers/ enthusiasts/ owners/ drivers and are smart, matured, considerate, peaceful, rational, well-informed and polite people.

The latest Performance promo today is this : Invoiced price is $176'000, 5% down payment, take 95% loan for 10 years and with the cash rebates from the bank and also the reduced 1st year repayment, according to the SE, the actual price is about $156'000. The interest rate is 3.5% versus the normal rate of 2.85% a difference of 0.65%. This means you pay an additional $10'868 in interest cost!

If you look at Performance's 'effective' price of $156'000, you also have to look at cash rebates if you buy a used car and take out full financing. Reminder - compare apples with apples. :)

In any case, this will be my last word on this posting - what I have said, I believe I have said earlier. If any of you wishes to discuss this further with me on a friendly and rational basis, I am ready to buy you a coffee and talk. Sui or not? :) The only bright side to this posting is that there are still some of you who are fair and polite, for that I thank you. For those of you who have had harsh words for me, I respect your opinions but may I please request that we keep it cordial and close the case? Thank you. Peace. :)

Re: E60 for sale!!!

get this straight, i've never called you a cheat.

in fact i've said that you have every right to price it as you see fit. just because i state that you've priced your car above what i believe to be the market rate is in no way a slight on your character.

people have enquired about buying my car and i've priced it at $170,000, which i know is way above what other similar cars are selling for. does that make me a cheat? i don't think so, an uncompromising and difficult seller perhaps, but not a cheat. Or perhaps i'm really not "smart" and do indeed need to "consult a friend who can explain to (me) the financial principles here"

Peace. :)

if not for your confrontational post, i would have felt a little apologetic for having caused you to feel "a tad insulted". i find it ironic that you've posted the above; the rest of the post didn't seem too peace loving to me.

cheers
