Just to clear some of your doubts....

I can still have 'R', 'N', 'D' & 'D/S' mode with this mod.

I can also mod further to have 'P' but it'll require some cutting & grinding.

I prefer not to loh......I treat it like a manual car. Just leave it in 'N' & pull handbrake loh.

I've been doing that with my E46 for 4 years & now with my E60. Never once rolled downhill b4 leh......

Very tempted to get the M5 meter as my meter only max at 260km/h......I think my car can hit 280km/h......kekekeke

The only thing the worries me is how to make the dsc button work and also the power button from D to DS. Can you share any information please?

Also one more question: I put the m5 console but when i shift to N, pull the handbrake and switch off the engine i cannot take the key from my car. Did you do any modification to make this happen?

Modification have to be done in order to take key out when in 'N'.

Look for your local BMW specialise guys to help you.....Billy can't help you unless you are here with your car.

And also, where can i get info on how to build this circuit dor d /ds with the power button???
Or can I pay someone to make this circuit for me?

Hi guys!!

Here's another update of my mods......kekekeke

A super mega thanks to Billy from Juzz4cars for helping me getting it done!!!

I've finally got my M5 center console & the gearknob wired up with lights!!

All the buttons lighted up too!!

Pics showing above in 'N' & below in 'R'

Below shows when gear is in 'D'

But I wanted more than just lights.....kekeke

I wanted to use the 'POWER' button to activate the gear change to DS mode so that I can immediately use my paddles to shift manually rather than having to shift the gear to the left in order to go into DS mode!!

Billy went into deep study of the BMW wiring diagrams & built a circuit to help me fullfill my project.

Waalaa, after 2 days.....he custom made a circuit & made the 'POWER' button to activate & deactivate the steptronic from 'D' to 'DS' by just pressing it!!!!

Billy is a genius in electronics.....kudos to him!!!

This mod is so cool as I drive my car in manual everyday.

Just shift to 'D', press the 'POWER' button & click on my paddles to shift manually.....lazy or when I want to just drive in auto.....just press the 'POWER' button again & it'll go back into 'D' mode.

I understand Robson customs the CF trimming to whatever shape you want. Its not a ready made item if thats what you mean. Robson needs to dismantle your panels and then wrap the CF over them.

Hi Mw,

Sorry what i meant was the cf lamination was done on the original wood trim ( i suppose). So in order for the M5 gearshift panel to fit into the original trim ( which was in wood or cf whichever), does the trim need any modification to the "hole" in the center before the M5 gearshift panel can go in? As i am not too sure the normal auto panel is the same shape as the M5 ones...

Or maybe Wilson already is using the M5 interior trim and make it more chio by laminating it with CF by Robson. So fitting the M5 gearshift panel is a direct plug and play.
