Transfer engine power (in terms of twisting force, i.e. torque) to auto gearbox, which then drive the propeller shaft (for RWD) which drives the drive shafts through the differential. The equivalent power (torque) transfer mechanism in a manual gearbox is the clutch.

Torque converter produces neither power nor torque by itself. It transfer power (torque) from the engine fly wheel to the gearbox through a clever fluid coupling mechanism.

I think bro hetraa upgraded his torque converter to 3.0 (I assume 3.0 = 530i) version to handle the increased power and torque from supercharging his engine.

Why aircraft engineer? A mechanical engineer would also know, though I'm not a mechanical engineer.
