I went to view a E60 523i 06 and realized that it has the N52 producing 177hp. Just wondering if i can tune it up using powerbox... etc or am I better off getting a E90 325i instead ? I know its like comparing apples and oranges but for me i would like to have performance especially when driving on NSHW

Gentlemen , tk you for all the advice. I'm leaning towards the 325i actually, until i went to view the E60 just now , and my GF actually likes the car. I have no problems with both as they are definitely better than my E90 318lci. Reason i asked is sometimes if i need the extra juice on highway is the 40+Hp difference gonna matter at all ? BTW the E60 in question is here

I was once told that averagely speaking dealers mark up 20% to dictate the listing price. Of course my take is that the more exotic vehicles will suffer a lower take in price ( Bigger markup).
This is to help you on deciding if u r given a good offer.
What I have learned here is that most BMW owners are passionate bimmer enthusiasts, and therefore, what matters more may be what u feel about the car.
On the contrary, if you can buy a GREAT ride at a more reasonable price then why not. Good luck to your imminent purchase.

Of cos there will be a different even looking at the 190 hp for 523i and 218 hp for 525i . Although both sharing the same engine but certain engine built in design are different to cater higher performance such as manifold .. Yes u can add power box or sprint booster to obtain higher hp but at the same time u will also change the chariteristic of BMW original performance .. If by just adding power box can solve the differences btw 523 & 525 then y ppl still willing to pay 20k more on 525 ?? FYI , at europe country ( not sure USA also same or not ) the minimium engine spec for e60 is 525 only . 520 or 523 only used to cater Asian market due to lower rate of road tax or insurances ( correct me if I am wrong : )
