E90 LCI Halogen AE as DRL

I have a set of code which can enabled the halogen AE working as DRL. Which means to say that the AE will automatically lighted when the car is started without switch to city light. The welcome light will still works when the car is unlocked. So was wondering who are able to reprogram it.

That aside, although I have the DRL function on my car computer, but when I enabled it, nothing is happening. Actually what supposed to be happening? The AE supposed to be lighted only?.....Will the taillamp be lighted as well?

Once the DRL is activated, your tail light will also have the light up.

iDrive should be able to set, if do not have iDrive, still is also able to set.

if yes, then you need to buy a K+DCAN cable and get hold of the software somewhere before you can do the coding.

No code needed, just select DRL under set n on it

Hi Oddballz,

Once I activate the DRL, does it mean my AE and tail light will come on when I unlock the car?

It doesn't seem to be the case right now and I am trying to get PML to encode next week.

Any better suggestions how to do it?

DRL will not have this effect when unlocking of car door.

Unlocking to have the AE and tail light to light up as welcome light has to be set by the Auto Light function.

on the right side, just switch the knob to Auto and u will have the welcome light when u unlock the car. (locking the door does not have the effect)

If DRL is still 'on' mode, u start your engine will have the DRL activate on the AE and tail light.

Actually mine is constantly set in the Auto Light Function but AE and tail light still doesn't light up.

Looks like gotta get PML to encode it.

try using the left side stick (signal light) and go into 'Set' (with a tick), scoll down and under the daylight icon, set to on and finish.

I got the information from youtube and try myself.

there are special harness which will enable daytime angel eyes just like this picture
