Hi clar, so u mean changing the axle oil doesn't help with the rear sound when turning and it will go away after sometime?

Different people have different results. Some report immediate fix upon changing the rear differential oil to those with FM booster. The mechanic told me that from his experience, people with low mileage tend to have more exaggerated rear differential issue. In any case, i would still strongly recommend changing the oil.

Changed the rear differential oil recently...costed ard $300 wif labour..that oil not cheap wor...

Anyway, sound has gone or reduced noticeably, sometimes can still hear it, sometimes no sound at all...weird...

Re: E9x M3 Technical Thread

My sound has gone away unless I'm doing sharp turns hence no urgency to change oil yet until it gets unbearable.
Question, will prolong changing this oil damage anything?

When i had my differntial oil changed for the first time at 8k, the oil looked nasty with bits of metal powder in it. I strongly recommend changing this oil regularly. Your car will love u for it!
