ECU remap on 335 by BOSS workshop

hi all,

A good friend of mine has a JB3 on his car for a while and thinking of gettting more low end torque out of the car apart from just JB3, which main intention is to provide torque curve similar to a bigger NA capacity car (high HP).

He approached Andre (Boss motorsport) and see if he has any goodies on hand for him. True, he suggested removed JB3 and performed a ECU remapped.

It took him about an hour to retrieve map default setting from the DME. After about half an hour of changing of DME settings, boost target etc, Andre reflashed back the new setting into the DME (it took about just 15 mins) to write-in.

Then we went for a short test drive. Fxxx, the torque was just incredible, came in just around 2000rpm and by around 2300rpm, it has the maximum torque, wheel spinned on 1st, 2nd and a little at 3rd gear.

The car came alive just like that. Torque number (feeling) should be similar to map5 setting ~ 14.5psi of boost BUT come so early and flat. Torque should be around ~ 500Nm or so.

I don't believe myself so I test drove his car and it is true. Throttle response is sharp and fast, machiem like the N54 engine has individual throttle per cylinder added.

To all 335's who like low-end torque with sharp and immediate response, which is good for city driving, highway overtaking, then this is the one you should try out. Andre told my friend to test for a couple of days, if he don't like it, just reflash back with no charge. Andre's atitude is good. He also said that he has already have a dozen of 335s running this custom ECU remap in Singapore with no issue, no CEL and check light at all.

Now, my backside itchy leow......how ??

I am just a customer, nothing related to Boss Motorsport in particular.

Good stuff to share.

Re: ECU remap on 335 by BOSS workshop

:sneaky:KNN.....about 9 months ago, I already had my ECU reflash by Andre the Great. Being the pioneer of Andre's poison recipe, I silently keep quiet so that I can chiat the other 335s on the road. Now Steven Wu come and pitcha lobang.:hmmidont: Soon, not only will I get chiat by RS4 and M3, as well as fellow 335s. :helpp!:Life is tough these days thanks to Andre.:smack:

I also had JB3 previously, which was good as it allows u to switch to stock map every now n then when u get tired of the oomph n wheel spin. These days I can hardly launch with 1st gear due to the immediate delivery of over 500nm of torque on tap. The car drives like a male baboon on heat. I usually leave the pack behind once the light turns green on 2nd gear. Of cos u also need to buy yr rear tyres more often.:errrrrrr:
For that I think Andre owes to buy me a rub at Marina South:goodup:for all the sorrows I went through including a few speeding summons. Thats also why I find to hard to convince myself to get an M3 convertible, unless I supercharge it and guess who is the tuner I will go to again?

wah...slurp.....andre, when free to tune my e60? :)

Re: ECU remap on 335 by BOSS workshop

Apart from the low end torque (which sounds bloody brilliant!) any other differences from the JB3?

Any dyno done and care to share with the ECU remap? For a stock 335, should the driver consider the remap over the JB3?

OT a bit: Seems that Boss is getting quite famous for their remaps, and justifiably so. Over a month since I remapped my 320i, and I still grin from ear to ear when I drive it. The torque is amazing.. got real butt feel. But of course being a 4-potter still need to push it to over 3,000 rpm to really feel the car fly.

So although I've never experienced a remapped 335.. I would say.. hell yeah go for it!

Re: ECU remap on 335 by BOSS workshop

car with higher tuned ecu map, what is the common pre-mature wear or items that need earlier servicing/replacement than usual ?

for example :
a. ignition coil
b. spark plugs
c. oil change at 8k or earlier
d. etc - what to take note?

bro,

Go done to Boss, let Andre speak to you, test it in your car then you will know what is 'remap' for super low end torque response. JB3 is strong too, at the higher rpm range, similar to bigger capacity car response.

You will not regret.

Hi bro,
Only can speak for 335. Turbo car usually suggests to change their oil every 7-8K, spark plug every 60K, ignition coil wise, hard to tell :)

Turbo unit every 100k :)
