Engine Fault! (Reduced power)

Hi All,

Any idea what would cause the engine indicator to show?

The iDrive labels it as Engine Fault! Reduced power (and advises me to get it checked out)

Currently driving a 335i, and (I think) it happened after a round of spirited driving- Car jerked for a split sec whilst I was accelerating...

Any inputs would be most appreciated!

Engine seems fine, don't think it's rattling?

If its HPFP fault,is it still covered by warranty??

Re: Engine Fault! (Reduced power)

when you start cranking like normal or its longer ? hpfp faults are covered by warranty.

Yup, I installed a juice box over at boss about 3 weeks ago??

Re: Engine Fault! (Reduced power)

Happened on my N55 not HPFP failure but vanos failure.....
Maybe u wan to ask Boss to run a error code check to find out in detail.

Re: Engine Fault! (Reduced power)

There was an error code regarding the fuel pump which apparently couldn't be deleted..

Oh well, I'm getting it repaired at PML now.

Hope the problem will be settled asap

Re: Engine Fault! (Reduced power)

Does the juice box constitute as a modification (under BMW warranty)?

Will they void my warranty?

Remove the box before going back to pml. Actually have you tried removing the box to check if there is still any error?

Sometimes there might also be fault code the outside workshop might not be able to read. Like when one of the pins on my boost pressure sensor came loose, idrive showed drivetrain malfunction, but my workshop cannot find any code.
