Owners of E36 with M 50 engines,

Stay away from Mobil One (0w50)

I just serviced my car and realised that by using the Mobil One, engine lost a lot of power as well as responsiveness......

Any experienced bros can advise on what engine oil is the best for my engine??

Thanks a milion,

Ray.

Re: Engine Oil for M50

I can never understand the losing power thing with engine oil

You should talk to Rod at UM2 about oil

Re: Engine Oil for M50

Is the oil 2 thick (in term of viscocity)?

Re: Engine Oil for M50

Recently had my M50 engine overhauled expertly. Mileage 350K. I was frankly very impressed by the condition of its innards, which had not been overhauled before. One possible explanation I have read from experts is that the cleaning ability or de-sludging or whatever of the new oil removed enough gunk to expose a worn engine. As you know, a well known trick to make an old engine sound smooth and quiet is to use thick oil....

Re: Engine Oil for M50

Hi, can anyone PM me on where to overhaul an M50 engine and how much it costs and how long?

Re: Engine Oil for M50

Guys,

Need advise here. My car is due for another oil change very soon. What engine oil would you guys recommend? I had previously been advised to use OWS? Liquimolly? Any other suggestions for my 16 yr old M50 engine??

Thanks

Ray

Your engine is never too old to use TORCO...we have got viscosities for all engines..
